Ethiopian soldiers fleeing to different areas due to the growing repression within Army By Staff
October 7, 2006 (Asmara) - Amid growing repression more than ever before within the Ethiopian Army, large numbers of soldiers are fleeing to different areas, according to 12 soldiers of the TPLF regime who arrived in Eritrea this week.
The soldiers are Fenta Yuhunie from the Amhara ethnic group, Lobuma Wolaita Merkemer from Debub Hizboch, Matusala Bonjo Botu, also from Debubu Hizboch, Gebrezgabhier Gebremariam Arefe, a Tigrayan, Adisu Mosisa Disasa from the Oromo ethnic group, Hamid Mohammed Nur Aba-Bora, Geremow Tesema Kumsa, an Oromo, Abdi Nasser Ibrahim Husein from the Somali ethnic group, Mesfin Hurisa Teklemariam, also an Oromo, Shimet Alelign Kasahun, an Amhara, Million Ayele Mengesha from Debub Hizboch, and Temesgen Abraha Medhanie from the Tigray ethnic group.
