Incitements by Wayane regime through divide and rule system led to unrest among the various ethnic settlers around the Dhidhesa valley on 09/29/06. Three priests and four others were killed as a result of the regime’s policy of fomenting ethnic differences to buy time for its undemocratic rule, according to eye witnesses from the area. Three churches, one flour mill and a residence of a Tigrayan businessman along with 300 quintals of coffee were burned down by the unrest, the report added.
Meanwhile, five more people were killed and properties were destroyed in Denbi town of Dhidheessaa District in the same region because of the malicious incitements made by the regime in its efforts to cause misunderstandings among the followers of different faith in the area.
